The first sweater in Project Baby Love to fall off my needles a few weeks ago was this little chic cardigan. In January my J had a baby and me and Angnieszka decided we would use the left-overs from her wrist warmers to make something for this new baby.
It took me a while to get started though, and I was on vacation and such but once back home I went to a conference and during that conference I started doodleing and all of a sudden I had come up with a cable pattern.
As soon as I got back home I started sketching, I took out my yarn and my needles and I cast on. Obviously this is a very obvious cable pattern
and I’m sure I’m not the first one to come up with it but this one is my own design since I didn’t look at any patterns while doing it. (If I would do this cardigan again though, I would do something else to drop the third part of the cable when the decreases makes the sweater too small to continue cabling with three parts. I have some ideas but I’m not sure yet.)
The result? A darling little raglan cardigan that I hope will fit Baby M perfectly. I also hope it is as fun to wear as it was fun to make.
Pattern: my own. Yarn: Malabrigo sock, color 852 Persia.
