Let’s all meet up in the year 2013

I think it’s time I settle the account on 2013. I’ve been wanting to show you all of my projects from last year before I make a little tribute post to them all but I think it’s time I realize that it won’t happen, there are projects I won’t get pictures from, and move on with my life. The Pictures of my darling mother-in-law’s Christmas hat seem to be gone and lost forever and I’m okay with that, really I am. I won’t be looking suspicously at the photographer, who supposedly has the pictures hidden somewhere, every time a discussion of his ability to take photos of knitwear comes up and I will try to forgive trust him of taking pictures again. At some point. I’m moving on with my life and will here give you a account of the knitting year 2013.

Amount of projects finished: 59
Amount of knitted gifts: 46
Most used needle size (gifts): 3,5 mm, used 11 times (or, you know, eleven projects). Followed by 3 mm and 2,5 mm, used 9 times each.
Biggest needles used: 7 mm, used one time, on the purple Encompass.
Smallest needles used: 2,5 mm.
Most common garment (gifts): surprisingly enough: cardigans/sweaters for a total of 13. I knit 11 cardigans/sweaters for kids last year. That’s amazing. And two sweaters as gifts for grown-ups. Followed by 10 hats, 6 for kids and 4 for adults. I also knit 7 pairs of wristwarmers and 6 shawls, all for grown-ups.
Most used yarn weight: Fingering, 13 projects. Most surprising was that I’ve knit 8 projects in sport weight. I had no idea.
Most common recipient: The kids. Kids where the winners, 18 projects were knit for kids, and, among the kids, Shrimpie has gotten the most knitwear 2013 – 3 projects. Among the grown-ups Julle has received most knitwear, also 3.
Amount of projects for me: 13 (I’ll show those in a separate post)

That was it for the not-for-me knitting of 2013. In another post I’ll show you the projects I made for me. When I look at these I suddenly understand where all my time went. I must say I’m happy with every single one of these projects but that doesn’t necessarily mean I want to knit them again. Some colors it will take a long time before I use again and some patterns will never be knit again. On the other hand, never say never.
